Manly Hall, The University of Alabama
About the Project
Just one of the many large-scale reroofing projects executed and delivered to our customer, The University of Alabama, Manly Hall was one of the first buildings constructed on The University’s historic Tuscaloosa campus. Since the early to mid-1800’s, Manly Hall has stood the test of time – including the Civil War – and is one of the most architecturally-classic institutional buildings in the nation.
Standard Roofing Company was selected by the owner to remove the existing slate roof system and deteriorated architectural-copper flashing system. Standard Roofing crews installed new modified underlayment, copper flashings and EcoStar synthetic slate, Majestic Slate™ Tiles, manufactured by Carlisle Syntec. EcoStar provides the classic beauty of a slate roofing system, via a sustainable, environmentally-friendly manner, utilizing rubber and plastics manufacturing technology.
The new roof system installed by Standard Roofing professionals allowed The University of Alabama to restore a beautiful feature of an historic setting, utilizing, “Green Technologies”, for our customer in Crimson and White! Go Bama! Roll Tide!
